RefTec International Systems Commercial Refrigerant Down Packaging Equipment

We all know it’s coming and I’m not talking about Winter. Before long all disposable refrigerant tanks will be banned in the United States, and re-fillable tanks will be normal. There has been a stall with the implementation of the new order, but the day is still on it’s way! In Canada the refrigerant is purchased and a deposit is put on the tank, which is fully refunded upon return.

As always RefTec International Systems is one step ahead of the competition and has designed and built the only Refrigerant Down Packaging Equipment on the market. Until now there have been a few mundane processes of trying to down package refrigerants, but the time and wasting of a valuable commodity held up production and caused excess loss.

The RefTec Down Packaging System will recover, vacuum and then fill the tank within minutes. With two stations going at same time the operator can fill pallets of tanks a day.

Can The Same Equipment Be Used On High And Low Pressure Refrigerants?

Refrigerants are classified as high pressure or low pressure based on their boiling points and the pressures required to maintain them in their liquid state. Low-pressure refrigerants have a boiling point below -26°C (-15°F) at atmospheric pressure, while high-pressure refrigerants have a boiling point above -26°C (-15°F) at atmospheric pressure. The difference between high and low pressure refrigerants is the chemical makeup properties of the refrigerant, which produce the desired characteristics for the application. There are several types of equipment that can recover low-GWP refrigerants, including recovery machines, vacuum pumps, and refrigerant analyzers.  Recovery Machines are used to remove refrigerant from a system and store it in a tank for later disposal or reuse. Vacuum Pumps are used to evacuate air and moisture from a refrigeration system before charging it with refrigerant. Refrigerant analyzers are used to determine the purity of the refrigerant and detect any contaminants that may be present.  It’s important to note that different types of low-GWP refrigerants may require different types of equipment for recovery.
